The Testament
This monument was erected, by voluntary public subscription, in memory of these men of Limerick, namely: Edward Daly, Con Colbert, and Thomas Clarke (honorary freeman of the city), who were put to death by England in Kilmainham Prison, Dublin, at Easter 1916: of Donal Sheehan, who was killed in battle: of all their comrades: and of the countless number from generation to generation who died for Ireland.
