Internationally known physicist and loyal alumnus, teacher and friend, he gained recognition in the annals of American Science through his research in acoustics, ether drift and x-ray. His method of presenting scientific subjects in the classroom was an inspiration to all. B-W's Honorary Scholastic Society bears his name.
