Inscription. The fire of 1866 destroyed most of this block. When rebuilding the Bogan and Company store to your left and the hotel to your right, the space in between them remained an alley leading to Mariposa Soda Works.

In 1935, Emile Trabucco built a one-story stucco building in the alley for the California Highway Patrol and Department of Motor Vehicles. They moved out in 1958 and this building became a doughnut shop, then a variety of restaurants and a wine bar.

Erected by Rotary Club of Mariposa Yosemite.
