Baldwin-Wallace College was central to Edwin A. Riemenschneider throughout his life. He followed the legacy of service to the college begun by his grandfather, Karl, and his parents, Albert and Seema. He was an active member of the board of trustees for 25 years. In 1977 he was named trustee emeritus. A prominent Akron physician, he led the effort to establish the Riemenschneider Bach Institute in 1968. The first endowed chair in the conservatory was named for him and his wife, Mary Beth. He is remembered as a compassionate physician, a dedicated alumnus and an ardent supporter of Baldwin-Wallace College.
