1. Colleton Rural Fire Department Charter Members Marker
Inscription.
In the Fall of 1968, the Colleton Rural Fire Department was organized. A 1958 school bus service truck was donated to the fire department. With the help of the volunteer firemen, it was converted into the first fire truck to be used in District 1. On January 14th, 1969, a charter for the Colleton Rural Fire Department was signed. This is a list of the 15 original members who made fire protection possible to the citizens of District 1. From the people of this district, thank you.

This Station erected 1986 under the direction of Fire Chief G. Wayne Walker with architectural design by Director Jack Mock. Constructed by Mitchell Construction Company and dedicated to all Fire Fighters of Colleton County, past, present, and future.
