Bellamy's Grist Mill
This stone mill was built in 1821 by the Bellamy brothers, in North Augusta, Grenville County. In 1863, its interior was completely destroyed by fire. The mill was quickly brought back into operation with two additional run of millstones and a new steam engine. In the early 1980s, the mill was dismantled and rebuilt at Upper Canada Village, 57 kilometers southeast from its original location. The nearby driveshed and adjacent building now used as a Cooperage are more recent constructions based on photographic evidence. Today, Bellamy's mill represents an 1860s custom mill using both steam and water power to grind wheat into flour.
