1. Centennial Square Marker

Inscription. Centennial Square, a project of the Foundation For The Community of Sunnyside, is built on property first owned by J.B. George. He sold his general merchandise, implements business, and property to two employees, Albert and Charles Amundson, in 1910. They and their families operated Amundson's Hardware, a retail hardware, furniture and sporting goods store, on this site until 1984. The buildings and property were sold to the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2927 and Karen and Don Vlieger. With a purchase of the Eagles property, a generous gift of property by the Vliegers, many volunteer hours and spontaneous financial support of the community, Centennial Square was dedicated on Sunshine Days, September 15, 2000
