An dieser Stelle gründete der Arzt und Naturforscher Lorenz Oken im Jahr 1822 die Gesellschaft Deutscher Naturforscher und Ärzte (GDNÄ). Das 200-jährige Jubiläum der GDNÄ wurde im September 2022 mit 800 Teilnehmern in der Kongresshalle des Leipziger Zoos gefeiert.

English Translation:
In 1822, the physician and naturalist Lorenz Oken founded the Society of German Naturalists and Physicians (GDNA) on this site. The GDNA's 200th anniversary was celebrated in September 2022 with 800 participants in the Congress Hall at Leipzig Zoo.
