1. President John F. Kennedy Memorial Park Marker
This park was built in 1805 and originally called the Columbine Quay. It was extended and refurbished throughout the succeeding century. It was renamed the Kennedy Memorial Park in 1966.
The prom became a popular venue for band concerts and in 1895 Mr A. H. Smith-Barry MP and the Queenstown Amusements Committee erected the original bandstand at a cost of £400. It fell into disrepair and was removed in 1963.
The most recent renovations were carried out to mark the millennium.
