Russian-American Company Magazin has Been Designated a National Historic Landmark
The Russian-American Company Magazin dates from 1805-1808, when Kodiak was the trading capital of Russian America. The Russian-American Company built the Magazin and used it to store furs before shipping them to markets around the world. After 1867, the Alaska Commercial Company used the building. The Magazin is the only surviving structure known to have been associated with both companies.

The Kodiak History Museum, until 2019 known as the Baranov Museum, is a history museum at 101 East Marine Way in Kodiak, Alaska. It is located in a National Historic Landmark building known as the Russian-American Magazin and the Erskine House, which also houses the office of the Kodiak Historical Society. The Russian-American Co. Magazin National Historic Landmark is the only surviving structure known to have been associated with both the Russian-American Co.
