Regarding Ernest Peter Dixon. E.P. Dixon organized the first community quilting party at Eli Whitney in 1931. He was the principal at Eli Whitney High School and held the quilting party in the school's gym. The quilting party has been held every year since, with 2010 marking it's 79th year.
Dixon is buried at Cane Creek Friends Meeting.
