Here lived and worked Joseph “Joop” Beugeltas, born 1914. Went on the run in 1943. Arrested March 27, 1943 in Besancon (France, on the Swiss border). Deported from Drancy on June 23, 1943. Murdered in Auschwitz June 27, 1943.

The stolperstein for Joop Beugeltas is visible here set into the pavement (in front of the green door - where light and shadow meet) in front of the former ‘Zusterhuis’, a residence for nurses. He was a nurse and worked in the nearby Jewish hospital (see provided link for more information).
