Schoharie Barns
Many of the barns in the St. Lawrence River Valley have an unusual frame and design that originated in the Schoharie Valley of New York State. These two barns, probably built in the early 1800s, show evidence of this influence. The barn on the left, was moved from the Kirkwood property. west of Aultsville about two kilometers east of here. The barn on the right, which today represents the main working barn of Loucks Farm, was moved from the Summers property along the Front of Williamsburg Township, less than a kilometer south of where it stands today.
