1. Wilson High School Marker
Inscription. Named for the president who re-segregated the federal workforce. in 1913, Wilson opened in 1935 for white students in upper Northwest DC. By 1970, Wilson was 63% white in a city that was 70% Black. Following years of integrated alumni and community activism, the school was renamed Jackson-Reed High School in 2022, honoring teacher Edna Jackson and principal Vincent E. Reed.
