Gurnee in Lake County, Illinois — The American Midwest (Great Lakes)
The Lobster
Six Flags Great America 50
In 1992, following the introduction of BATMAN: The Ride, the attraction was re-themed and renamed East River Crawler, receiving a purple repaint and continuing to operate in Yankee Harbor for more than two decades. After the 2016 season, the ride was relocated to Hometown Square to make room for THE JOKER coaster, replacing the retired Orbit. With the move, its original name, The Lobster, was restored in 2017 along with a refreshed look, featuring black cars with gold striping.
Today, The Lobster remains a classic family thrill staple, continuing to deliver its signature spinning, rising, and tilting motions, just as it has since the park's opening nearly 50 years ago.
