1. Scoresby Wesleyan Church Marker
Inscription. The first church services in Scoresby were held in William Horner's house in 1866. Horner was instrumental in the development of the Scoresby township, and in particular the building of the Scoresby Wesleyan Church. This church was built in 1874 in the Gothic style and was made of local clay bricks. The church was built on half an acre purchased from Edmund Ashley, costing just over £6. The building cost another £265. The church was first used at Easter 1874 and the first service was conducted by Rev. Bath. The church was part of the Dandenong Methodist Circuit for more than 100 years.

The family of Thomas Dobson jnr of Rushdale were also very active at this church, particularly his eldest son George who has a plaque in his honour on the wall of the church. At various times, the Education Department hired the church hall for use by the adjacent school. In 1977, the church became part of the newly formed Uniting Church of Australia.
