1. Shannon's Bridge Marker

Inscription.
The original bridge on Raglan Street was named Shannon's Bridge after the Shannon family who were early settlers beside the river in the mid 1800's. The bridge was oriented north and south connecting the present sections of Raglan Street in a straight line.

When electricity arrived in Collingwood the light at the bridge was the most easterly in town. For more information on the history of Collingwood visit the Collingwood Museum at 45 St. Paul Street.
