Inscription. Architects Seehorn and Preston designed this French Normandy Revival style house for Lew and Stella Blanchard Irvine. The sixteen-room mansion was designed especially to hold the functions of the Women's Christian Temperance Union, of which Stella served as president. The W.C.T.U. participated actively in the early civic life of both the city and county, and in 1907 gave to the city the elegant cast-iron water fountain now in front of the municipal museum.
