The date of this building is unknown but Dr. Timothy Minot, Jr. was living here until 1761 when the house was traded to the county. Abel Moore was the Sheriff and lived here with his daughter Harriet, who cooked for the prisoners. Later in 1843 Samuel Staples became the Sheriff. The house was then sold to the Catholic Church and it was used thereafter as the priest’s house.
