1. Willow Walk, Meadowbank Marker

Inscription. Once part of the Denbies Estate, Willow Walk and the Millpond were given to the town of Dorking by local developer Maurice Chance in 1934.

The Edwardian photographs show a largely riparian scene with pollarded willows gracing either side of the path.

MVDC is in the process of restoring this notable historic landscape feature. More trees will be planted and then traditionally managed in keeping with the integrity of the site. This will entail pollarding the trees on a 3 to 5 year rotation. Whilst this may appear severe it ensures the long term survival of the tree.

We would like to acknowledge the kind contribution from the Dorking branch of the Oddfellows to this restoration project.
