Inscription.
This is a drawing of the water system used on Mr. Hurley Hampton's farm from 1890 to 1914. The spring is down the hill 100 feet below the house. By cranking the windlass, the bucket was lowered into the soapstone basin, dipping up a bucket of water and returning the bucket of water to the house.
