Dear Mr. Buchanan:

Your daughter, Leona, has told me of the quilt your wife made in honor of my space flight. Annie and I like to keep memorabilia from those days, and the quilt would be an excellent addition to our collection if you would like to send it. It would certainly be cherished. The address you should use is Room 503, Hart Senate Office Building, United States Senate, Washington, D.C., 20510.

Borht my mother and Annie's mother participated in quilting bees where we lived, and we can truly appreciate all the work and creativity that a person puts into making a quilt.

Best regards, and we look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
John Glenn

Dear Mr. Buchanan: I want to thank you for sending the Friendship 7 quilt. The quilt is a work-of-art and one Annie and I can especially appreciate, since our mothers were part of a "quilting circle" that met regularly when we were children.

Dollie's thoughtfulness is wonderful, and we appreciate, more than we can say, your carrying out her wishes.

Many, many thanks.

Sincerely,
John Glenn
