1. Jerusalem Church Cemetery Marker

Inscription. By 1811 settlers of the Town of Fayette, organized a “Zion’s Church”. The first church edifice on this site, a log structure, was destroyed by fire in 1835. Replaced by 1836 with a large brick building dedicated as the “Jerusalem Church”, standing watch for nearly 100 years over this hallowed ground, used for internment from 1809 to 1911.
