Have you ever noticed the tall arrowhead-shaped granite monument in North Wilkesboro, just west of Midtown Plaza?

I’ve driven by it my entire life, but never stopped to look at it until the summer of 2020, after eating at a nearby restaurant.

about a short concrete pillar at the intersection of the CBD loop and D Street in North Wilkesboro, just off the back parking lot at the site of the old Smithey’s building, amongst the crepe myrtles and ginkgo trees growing there? I ran across this one some years ago, as I returned to my car with a sack of Goodwill Burgers.

Both markers commemorate the life and travels of Daniel Boone.
