Inscription.

Here, many of Leipzig's prominent citizens have been laid to rest. Among them are the Cantors of St. Thomas's Johann H. Schein, Johann Schelle, Johann A. Hiller and Christian T. Weinlig, also Wagner's parents and his sister, Rosalie. In the original cemetery, which was larger than it is today, lay the burial place of Johann Sebastian Bach, whose remains were reburied to St. Thomas's church in 1949.
