1. Hatfield Gas Lantern Marker
This historic gas lantern light post (now solar) once stood beside the home of Cpt. William Anderson "Devil Anse" Hatfield a few feet from the family well.
As you can see there are bullet holes where it is rumored "Devil Anse" shot at it while target practicing.
He installed two more of these gas lanterns on each side of the entry bridge for added security at night to guard the bridge entry.
