1. The Darien Lake Sharp Marker
The Sharp is clearly recognized by the dark coloration along the top of its unusually thick skinned back, its glistening scaly tummy and most notably, its huge shark-like dorsal fin. An adult Sharp can weigh over 35 pounds and grow up to 4 feet in length; however, they are considered harmless to humans.
Sharp typically scavenge the bottom of the lake for bristleworms, but also have a massive appetite for fish food pellets found in vendors along the Boardwalk. Because of the Sharp's uncontrollable appetite, one is likely to witness a whirlwind of activity at the water's surface as they feed.
