1. Gillette Beautification Marker
Bede McCann was hired quite often in the summer time to use a team and scraper to clear the weeds and grass out of the Burlington Ditch. He also mowed the right-of-way along Highway 14-16 and planted the evergreen trees along the highway and train tracks by the Experimental Farm, now known as Cam-Plex Park. Bede and his wife Lela bought the Roy Hardy place which was 400 acres at the price of $35 an acre. Those 400 acres now make up the Farmers Co-op, McCann Heights subdivision and Campbell County High School North Campus.
