4. Knox Cave Advertisement

This advertisment for the Knox Cave appeared in the Altamont Enterprise on Friday, August 16, 1946. The cavern was commercially open from 1933 to 1958. During this period, it was operated primarily by D.C. Robinson. After 1958, the commercial facilities fell into disrepair and the cave is now managed by the Northeastern Cave Conservancy since 1978, now requiring permits for visits.
