1. March Farm Cook Car Marker

Inscription.
The March Farm was started in 1886 and was located in and around March Railroad Siding, five miles west of Warren. The cook car was a portable kitchen built on a threshing machine chassis, that could be moved from field to field on this large Bonanza Farm. At times it was used to follow the threshing machine and crews that traveled from farm to farm harvesting the crop.

This cook car was rescued, restored and furnished by Art and Joyce Howard, of Warren in the early 1970s, as a tribute to their many years as Custom Harvesters. It was part of the 1976 American Bicentennial display at the Marshall County Fair. Since that time it has been part of the Howard farmstead west of Warren where Art and Joyce enjoyed sharing it with friends and visitors who came by.

The Cook Car was newly restored and added to by Jim and Shirley Johnson of Warren in 2007 as a tribute to their longtime friends and neighbors, the Howards.
