Souvenir postcard showing the dedication of an earlier plaque in the same location, showing only the names of those lost in WWI. Note, too, that at this stage, the soldier statue still had his rifle w/bayonet.

5. Moulineaux Memorial
(translated:) Here, on the very territory of Moulineaux, on December 30, 1870, and January 2, 3, and 4, 1871, near the old Norman castle of Robert the Devil, numerous French soldiers
fought and died. They fought valiantly against the German forces. At the location where these heroic battles took place, this monument was erected on the initiative of Mr. E. Martin, Mayor of Moulineaux. It was funded by public subscription and inaugurated on August 11, 1901. Architect: E. Fauguet, Statuary (Sculptor): A. Foucher
