About the Site
This humble and historic performance space was established more than a century ago.
Last restored in the 1970's, the theater is now outdated, too small, lacks amenities, and does not meet the need for a multi-purpose venue that can host events year-round.
About the Future
The Trust for the National Mall is raising private donations to restore the theater in front of you to become America's Center Stage.
The new Sylvan Theater will be a space for performing arts, classroom gatherings, and First Amendment activities that will make a lasting impact now and for future generations.
