About the Site
This location was once home to temporary government buildings during World War I and World War II.
Today's Constitution Gardens and the memorial to our nation's founders were first built as a gift to the nation for the US Bicentennial in 1976
About the Future
The Trust for the National Mall is raising private donations to restore this 36 acre site to honor Our Nation's Founding.
The new Constitution Gardens will be an inviting space to gather, learn and honor the signers of the Declaration of Independence on the National Mall For Generations to Come.
