1. Dublin’s Italian Quarter Marker

Inscription. After the Act of Union in 1801, Chancery Lane declined into overcrowded tenements, with poor living conditions and frequent disease.

Among the resilient communities who settled here were Italian immigrants, skilled craftsmen who later became known for building churches and opening fish and chip shops across Dublin.
