1. Cornelian Cherry Marker

Inscription. Cornelian cherries are not really cherries. The fruit has had a loyal culinary following since ancient times based on the luxuriously floral sweetness of the syrups, puddings, drinks and confections that are made from it. The tree produces tiny yellow flowers in early spring which culminate into a crop of oblong berries in late summer or early autumn. The fruit is high in vitamin C. In Russia, cornelian cherry preserve is served in small dishes and eaten as a luxury sweet with steaming hot black tea.
