1. Canton Corner Cemetery Marker
Canton Corner Cemetery is among the oldest active burial grounds in the United States. What began as a modest one-acre 'Common Ground' has blossomed since its 1707 creation into a sprawling, artfully landscaped cemetery covering over 70 acres (26 currently developed). Three centuries of burial practices are on display, representing an evolution of religious, philosophical, and ethical beliefs. A wide spectrum of Canton's citizens are buried here; Paul Revere's family members and descendants rest in peace alongside Native Americans, notable industrialists, artists, inventors, patriots and common citizens.
Stroll the grounds and explore this unique tapestry. The souls buried here reflect lives of purpose and legacy. Gaze upon their stones and consider the history that lies within.
