1. Sitka Totem Square Marker

Inscription.
Sitka Totem Square is a park and recreation area acquired from the Federal government in 1972 for use by the general public. The park is owned by the State of Alaska and is maintained by the Department of Health and Social Services, Division of Pioneer Homes, Sitka Pioneer Home.

In 2010/2011 a major renovation project to address safety and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) issues was funded by the State of Alaska through the Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS). This project allowed for a rebuilt seawall, ADA sidewalks restoration of Baranov Totem and new drainage and landscaping. The property is a historic site tied to the Sitka Pioneer Home.
