University of Delaware Botanic Gardens
Established in 1966 through a generous donation by Emily Clark Diffenback, this garden holds many of the UD Botanic Gardens' most historically significant plantings, including a diverse collection of conifers, broadleaf evergreens, and deciduous flowering trees that were part of the original plantings in the 1950s.
Notable specimens include California Incense Cedar (Calocedrus decurrens), Leonard Messel Mongolia (Magnolia Χ loebneri 'Leonard Messel'), and Turkey Oak (Quercus cerris), which are among the most mature plants in our collections.
