Canton Dale Resident
Copper Works Laborer Each day, a bell called workers from their nearby homes to the copper mill. Many were skilled workers drawn to Canton Dale from across the country and around the world for the opportunities offered at the mill. At the mill, they worked at furnaces that heated the copper, slow turning rollers that flattened it into sheets, and water- powered trip hammers that beat it into shape. Thanks to their hard work, Canton's copper mill was a leader in the industry for generations.

The town of Canton grew along with its factories and mills. Workers, their families, and the many people attracted to the new opportunities made this a vibrant place.
