1. Rubber Plant Worker Marker

Inscription.
During World War II hundreds of workers, many of them women, came to work at the Plymouth Rubber Company plant, making rubber products for the war. They specialized in rubber soles and heels for soldiers' boots.

The Plymouth Rubber Company bought this site in 1909 and had a rubber plant in operation by 1911. At their height, Plymouth Rubber employed over 1,000 people and became the world's largest producer of rubber bands. The land was sold at public auction in 2006.
