This Frisco Commons Park Trail is dedicated by the residents of Frisco, Texas to honor Seaman First Class Bolton, age 19, was serving in the U.S. Navy as a crew member on the USS Quincy (CA-39) on August 9, 1942 when he was killed in action as his ship was sunk by naval gunfire and torpedoes during the Battle of Savo Island, Solomon Islands. Seaman First Class Bolton was lost at sea.

to multiple torpedo strikes. As flames consumed the vessel and the sea claimed its wreckage, 370 sailors, including Seaman Bolton, perished in one of the most tragic naval losses of the war.

His sacrifice, made in the line of duty, echoes as a solemn testament to courage and devotion.
