1. Native Americans Navarro County Marker
This area was actively traveled by hostile warriors as well as friendly hunter-gathering Native Americans. Nomadic tribes moved through following the buffalo herds and also trading goods. There were sudden dangers to settlers of the county from the Prairie natives, who thought that newcomers were a natural enemy. Friendliness came from the Tejas tribes. There were no permanent Native American settlements in Navarro County.
