1. Roosevelt Memorial Stadium Marker
Constructed on this site between 1933 and 1935 by the Works Progress Administration, Roosevelt Memorial Stadium was home to the Science Hill Hilltoppers and the Langston High School golden Tigers Football Teams. The Burley Bowl football game between East Tennessee State College (now University) and Milligan College highlighted an annual tobacco festival held here between 1945 and 1956. When the stadium was demolished in 2010 to build the Memorial Park Community Center, the original stadium gate and iconic WWI Doughboy Statue located on the north side of the stadium were restored and preserved.
