1. Seacow Head Lighthouse Marker

Inscription. The Lighthouse was constructed in the Year of 1864 by David MacFarlane and John Rankin. This is the 4th Lighthouse to be built on Prince Edward Island as a Navigational Aid. The House was built in 1872.to accommodate the Lighthouse Keepers and their Families. The Keepers over the Years were. Malcome MacFarlane (1865-1867); Thomas Huestis (1867-1872); James Wright (1872-1873); Peter (Patrick) O'Ronaghan (1873-1917); Emmett O'Ronahan (1917-1918); Thomas James Ronahan (1918-1946); Charles Walter Richards (1946-1959) and William Daniel Sherry (1959-1966). Tommy Ronahan was the longest serving Lighthouse Keeper and he received the Kings Medal for his service. To them and their Families we all owe them our deepest gratitude for keeping our Waters safer for all those People who used it. Thank-you from all The Friends of Seacow Head Lighthouse Inc.
