1. Dunaway Family Cemetery Marker

Inscription.
The family patriarch Foster W. Dunaway, a single man, left Tennessee to come to Texas about 1846 and first settled in Dallas alongside John Neely Bryan. Foster and Eucebia Navell Granberry married and soon were farming in the area known as Lebanon. It appears that the first person buried here was his mother Polly Dunaway in 1867. Other headstones mark the graves of his father Samuel and those believed to be immediate family members. Today this 30’ x 100’ plot is maintained by the Hillcrest-Lebanon HOA.
