1. Dublin Post Office Marker
On March 31, 1846, the Dublin Post Office was established on the Byler Road in Fayette County to continue mail service when the Eldridge Post Office temporarily closed. Surley Dublin served as its first postmaster and was the office's namesake. Dublin continued to provide mail service when the Eldridge Post Office reopened on April 11, 1846. The distance to Dublin from Eldridge was 4 and a half miles in a southwesterly direction. Surley served as postmaster for almost four years, when he and his family moved to Texas, settling in Cherokee County. Henry D. Phillips took over as postmaster in 1849.

In 1854, the 64-mile mail route through Dublin began at Courtland, traveled through Moulton in Lawrence County, Thornhill in Winston/Hancock County, to Eldridge, Dublin, Sheffield, New Lexington, North River, Northport and Tuscaloosa three times per week. James Killingsworth (1857), F. Boatright (1859), William S. Killingsworth (1860) and Joseph Phillips (1861-1865) also served as postmasters. The last and longest serving postmaster was Andrew J.
