Gebouwd in 1612. Bij de restauratie in 1908 is de puntgevel hersteld en de oostelijke muur versterkt om verder scheefzakken te voorkomen. De 17de-eeuwse cellen zijn nog compleet aanwezig.
Prison
Built in 1612. During the 1908 restoration, the stepped gable was repaired and the eastern wall reinforced to prevent further leaning. The 17th-century cells remain fully intact.

Next to the town hall in Enkhuizen is the city prison: a tall, narrow building that is strangely crooked due to subsidence. The cells are still intact and torture instruments are a reminder of the cruel fate of the prisoners. The prison was built in 1612, at the beginning of the 20th century the building(Submitted on September 10, 2026.)showed considerable subsidence, in 1903 a concrete foundation was therefore placed under the East Wall and two high counterforts were placed against this wall.Photographed by Andrew Ruppenstein, September 7, 20262.
