1. Westfield Village Marker

Inscription. Two Brantford high school teachers, D. Glenn Kilmer and Golden L. Macdonell, on October 30, 1960, purchased thirty acres on this site for the purpose of developing a pioneer village. The project was named Westfield Village on October 1, 1961. The Westfield Pioneer Village Association was incorporated, in November 1965, as a “non-profit educational institution, whose purposes are to preserve and present nineteenth century rural life in Upper Canada, later known as Canada West”. The village was officially opened to the public on June 13, 1964.
