1. Hirschbrunnen / Stag Fountain Marker

Die Quelle dieses Laufbrunnens wurde vor 1700 in den Weinbergen der Hohewart gefasst. Das Wasser floss von dort und später von einer anderen Quelle durch Teuchelrohre bis zum Dorfbrunnen beim damaligen Gasthof Hirsch, wo viele Feuerbächer Wasser holten und das Vieh tränkten. Der Dorfbrunnen erhielt 1877 Brunnensäule und Brunnentrog, hergestellt im Stile des Historismus von der Eisengießerei Gotthilf Kuhn. Im Jahre 1899 wurde der Brunnen an die öffentliche Wasserleitung angeschlossen; in den 1930-er Jahren hat man den denkmalgeschützten Brunnentrog jedoch als Wasserstelle in die Hohewart-Weinberge versetzt, von wo er erst 1978 in die Nähe seines früheren Standortes zurückkehrte. Er wird seitdem wieder durch die öffentliche Wasserleitung versorgt.

(English Translation)
The spring supplying this continuously flowing fountain was developed in the Hohewart vineyards before 1700. Water flowed from there—and later from another spring—through hollowed wooden pipes to the village fountain beside the former Hirsch Inn. Many Feuerbach residents collected water there and watered their livestock. In 1877, the village fountain received its fountain column and basin, which were produced in the Historicist style by the Gotthilf Kuhn iron foundry. The fountain was connected to the public water system in 1899. During the 1930s, however, its protected historic basin was moved to the Hohewart vineyards for use as a watering place. It was returned near its former location in 1978 and has since again been supplied by the public water system.
