1. St Katharine Docks Marker
Inscription. St Katharine Docks takes its name from St Katharine’s Hospital, founded on the site in the 12th century. The docks were built in the 1820s, containing three separate basins: the warehouses were completed in 1852. The whole area was restored between 1969 and 1995 and now contains hotels, shops, offices and restaurants around a yachting marina.
